The Higher Education Department, Government of Assam, has updated the schedule for admissions to the Four-year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), Five-year Integrated Post Graduate Programme (FYIPGP), and Five-year Integrated Master Programme (FYIMP) for 2024. Due to the flood-like situation in the state, the department has extended the admission timeline as per official notification. This decision follows requests from college authorities to allow more time for admissions.
It is to be noted that the revised timelines will apply to all participating Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). According to the updated schedule, admissions for FYUGP, FYIMP, and FYIPGP based on the first merit list through non-CUET mode will begin from June 20 to June 22 respectively. Spot admissions are scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 1.
For CUET-based admission, applicants can take admissions until July 31. The preparation and publication of the 1st merit list are on July 9, the 2nd merit list on July 12, and the 3rd merit list on July 16. The spot admission will be conducted from July 19 to July 20, and the final spot admission (for both CUET and non-CUET) will take place from July 29 to July 31.

The extended timelines in the Higher Education Portal for admission to FYUGP (Four-year Undergraduate Programme), FYIMP (Five-year Integrated Master Programme), and FYIPGP (Five-year Integrated Post Graduate Programme) in the state are as follows:
Non-CUET
Admissions of applicants in first merit list: June 20- June 22
Colleges can take admissions on June 23, if required: June 23
Preparation and publication of second merit list: June 24- June 25 (second Merit list will be published from Midnight and the second batch will be published from June 24 till 3 PM June 25)
Admissions of applicants in the second merit list: June 26, June 27 and June 28
Spot admission: June 29- July 1
CUET
Programme selection: July 1- July 2
Correction window: July 3- July 4
Academic screening by HEIs: July 5- July 8
Preparation and publication of first merit list: July 9
Admissions of applicants in first merit list: July 10- July 11
Preparation and publication of second merit list: July 12
Admissions of applicants in second merit list: July 13 and July 15
Preparation and publication third merit list: July 16
Admissions of applicants in third merit list: July 17- July 18
Spot Admission (for CUET): July 19- July 20
