Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to Inaugurate Odia University in January 2024

The Odia University is a dream project of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who aims to establish it as a center of excellence for research and development in the Odia language

Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian visited Satyabadi on Sunday and reviewed the progress of the first phase of construction work of the Odia University. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed Pandian to review the progress of the University.

The first phase of the state university is being built on an area of 8.6 acres.

The educational institution consists of a school of learning with a capacity of 200 students, and a hostel block for both males and females. The hostel has the capacity for 32 students, a scholar’s hostel which can comprise 16 students, a library, a cafeteria, an admin block, and a well-developed ‘kunda’ (water body).

During his visit, Pandian inspected all the individual blocks, including the progress on landscaping works and internal road works.

He appreciated the architecture and the construction work progress made by the team. He also instructed the authorities to complete the first phase of the University by January 15.

The Odia University is a dream project of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and is located near the famous Vana Vidyalaya in Satyabadi. The beautiful and serene campus of the university has successfully used the Odia alphabet in its design and architecture.

The Odia University is established to be a centre of excellence for research and development in the Odia language.

The campus will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister during the last week of January 2024, Pandian informed.
